Ferrari 348 is a mid-engined, V-8 powered, rear wheel drive 2 seat sports car manufactured by Ferrari that replaced Ferrari 328 in 1989 and continued till 1995.
Ferrari 348 began a new era for Ferrari cars, bridging the gap between original three liter V8 cars and the F355, probably the finest sports car of 20th century.
Ferrari 348 had numerous additional features than its predecessor. The 348 comes in two versions - 348 TB for coupe and 348 TS for targa version. These models feature a naturally aspirated 3.4 liter version of quad-cam, 4-valve per cylinder V8 engine. The engine of this car produced 300 hp power (224 kW) at launch and sits longitudinally with a transverse gearbox.

Design of Ferrari 348:•Ferrari 348 marked a new style for small Ferrari.
•It is longer, wider and taller than 328 models.
•Transverse transmissions and rear radiators are fitted behind the engine that make rear trunk impractical.
•Ferrari 348 was designed for efficiency and ease of use in context to Ferrari F40 and Testarossa. The shape of the hood, bumper cap and angulations are inspired from F40 and head light and tail light assemblies, grille and sir-dams were influenced by Testarossa.
•Smart styling of Ferrari Pininfarina allowed creating pressed steel body two inches longitudinally shorter that its previous versions.
•The sizeable doors made easy way-in and way-out.
•The Flush glass and generous mirrors improved visibility and reduced outward noise effects.
•The aluminum deck covering the engine bay included matte black section that reduced reflection.
Structure of Ferrari 348:•Main frame formed of pressed and box section galvanized steel welded to upright galvanized steel panels.
•The use of steel monocoque resulted in rigid and chassis.
•Use of monocoque enabled to dispense large crash bumpers and made accident damage easy to repair.
•Body panels were bolted to chassis to provide better rigidity and carry some load.
•Front suspension directly connected to front chassis.
•Spider and GTS models were gusseted and braced for the loss of rigidity to create car’s roof with black plastic material.
•Flat composite panel attached below front and mid chassis that smoothed the air flow below the car.
